The Joy...

When you get a glimpse into their hearts....

We try to do a Bible time during school. We read from different Bible story books, study their AWANA and pray.

Today we read a story called "The Death of a Rich Man" Luke 16:19-31 from a Precious Moments Storybook Treasury book. I read the story and the kiddos had questions. Aubree got a little confused on the details when the rich man did not go to heaven.

He looked up to heaven and cried out in pain, "Please, help me! Come down and give me cool water to drink. I'm burning alive. I can't stand it."

So, we talked about this being a picture of how eternity will be separated from God if Jesus is not the Lord and Savior of our lives. Bryce was sitting beside of me and started talking. As he was talking, his lips started quivering and tears were in his eyes. He's still not really sure why the story and questions affected him they way did. I think the parable shows the distinct difference in heaven and hell and it really touched his heart. He even asked about being sad that you were in heaven and missing earth. Needless to say, one of the awesome blessings of homeschooling!!!

Florida Pictures

On top of the St. George Lighthouse.

At St. George Beach - Bryce was excited to be in the Gulf. He even wanted to know if it smelled like the Atlantic. (He said it does.)

Downtown with the boats.

Aubree's first boatride. Can you tell she's scared? He was, too. They both wanted to stop and go back. Thankfully, it didn't take long for them to enjoy the ride.

We're ready to go back!!

Went Fishing and Killed a Snake

Bryce's Cub Scouts went to a Fishing Derby at a local lake on Saturday. Aubree's soccer practice was cancelled, so Newman took them both.

While fishing, a copperhead snake decided to swim to shore. While Newman got the kiddos a safe distance away, one of the other dads "took care" of the snake.

Bryce even caught a fish!! It was small, but a fish nonetheless. He was excited!!

Soccer Game

Aubree's first soccer game for the season was last night. She's #5. Pastor JT (Coach of the other team) is praying with both teams before the game begins. Aubree was aggressive but not quite as aggressive as I expected her to be. She ran hard as well as skipped along. We think she kicked the ball about 6 times during the game. After we got home, I asked her how she felt about the game - did she understand what was going on or was it kind of hard to keep up with everything? She laughed and said BOTH!! She asked what was the guy going running around with them. Bryce explained her about referees. Looking forward to next week's game.

Aquarium

It's great to be able to include school with vacation. Bryce went to the aquarium when he was two and Aubree had not been born yet. Needless to say, Bryce doesn't remember his first trip to the aquarium. This time it's a field trip. We were able to pay Homeschool family admission price which was significantly less than regular admission. What a blessing!!

Fish faces for Memaw!! Display of baby animals.

Admiring the fish.

A great picture of Aubree and Daddy.

At the beach

Bryce and his skim board for the first time.

Aubree has not always enjoyed the ocean water, but this time she has loved it!

It's a joy to see the excitement and fun on their faces!!
