Bryce's Poetry

Bryce's Poetry in his Language Arts lesson today.
Hope it makes you smile!!

Free Verse Poem:
The cat in the hat
is not fat,
wouldn't eat a rat
and in his thingamugiger he sat.

Limerick:
When the third base coach scratches his chest
Run, run, run. Try your best.
Then steal second base,
It is a quick race,
When you reach second base, YOU REST!

Cinquain:
Reading
adventure, fun
learn, relax, excitement
learning how I should live my life

Glorious Day (Living He loved me) ~Casting Crowns

As I celebrate Easter this weekend with family and friends, I'm reminded I serve the Living Savior everyday as I constantly need to rely and trust Him. The chorus of this song is awesome. Hope you enjoy!!

Our Weekend

Our family has been planning this trip to visit Uncle Scott and Aunt Karen for awhile, so we all could go to the Airshow. Since storms were forecasted, we decided to watch from a parking lot. We did NOT what to get stuck on the base in any storms or our kiddos would never go with us anywhere again. (Those knowing our track record with storms will understand.) The base changed their schedule and even had to cancel the last group because of the wind. We ate lunch and got back to their house early afternoon. We watched TV until the power went out. A paricular line of the storm was headed our way. We knew where we all needed to go in the event of a tornado. Karen and Scott kept up with the storms with their phones. Scott told us several times - "That's just over there." Pointing in a different direction each time. We ate an awesome candle lit dinner cooked on the grill with all of Karen's family. The power came back on just before 3am. It wasn't until Sunday morning watching the news did I understand how blessed and protected we were. We were literally in the middle of several tornadoes. I am still amazed and humbled when I think about what has happened and what could have happened.
Karen's church did not have power Sunday morning. So, we had our own short worship service and headed to the airshow. We stayed long enough for everyone to look at few planes and watch a couple of demonstrations.
We decided to head back to our parking lot to watch the Thunderbirds to end our first airshow experience.
Aubree prayed for us at bedtime. She prayed for the people who suffered damage in our town as well as others in our state. We have a precious family from church whose house was hit by a tornado. She thanked God for keeping us safe and that those suffering would see the Lord through their difficulties.

Saturday Hike

We took this past Saturday as a "Family Day" and went hiking - Almost a 5 mile hike along a river. A beautiful, cool and overcast day. It was perfect!! I loved hearing Aubree's "Ohhs" and "Ahhs" while we walked enjoying God's creation. The kiddos never did tire out. Bryce loved leading us and Aubree had fun encouraging me up the couple of steep inclines. We ended the day at one of our favorite restaurants that we ALL enjoy.

Laura Story - Blessings

The first time I heard this song, tears came to my eyes as I thought of family situations, friends serving overseas, friends here going through stuggles and my own past and present situations. It's truly only through Jesus... My Rock and My Redeemer. I hope where ever you are in your walk with Jesus, you will find the "Blessings" in this song.
