After much thought and discussion by all four family members, the kiddos got a Wii for their birthdays this year. So far, we have all enjoyed it. It's been affectionately named "Gii." The kids have gotten very good at a couple of the games. In the above pictures, they are playing baseball against each other. The Wii does an age test. All four of us did the test. Our age scores were 54, 77, 80 and 80. I'll let you guess the order!!

Bryce's Bedtime Story
Bryce's writing assignment this week was to write a bedtime story and was to have a Frog or Toad as a character. He's been reading Frog and Toad Are Friends for his read-alouds. Aubree and I even got in bed for him to read it to us and we fell fast asleep....
Seal and Frog get a space ship
and takeoff in the 1900s.
They forgot to fill up with gas.
They ran out of fuel and landed
on a comet. The comet ran in
to the sun and melted were
safe they yeled! They space
walked back to earth The end.

Happy Mother's Day
Obviously, when I think of Mother's Day, I think of my mother. I've now been a mother for almost 8 years and I can't imagine how my mother did it. My father died when I was 13 and she was 36. She was on her own to raise my sister and me through the rest of our years at home. I appreciate the decisions she made for us as we grew up. I know I haven't appreciated her very much verbally, but when I hear myself give my kids an answer like her, I appreciate her in my heart. She's famous for always giving an answer even if she has to make it up. It can be for her creativity since she doesn't know the answer or even for our own protection. We knew if her answer was "I have to think about it," the answer was probably going to be "No."
I'm blessed to have a great mother-in-law as well. She invited me to a Mom's Dinner at their church last night. The speaker shared from 1Peter 3:1-6. She spoke of how Sarah is our spiritual mother. She's listed in the great heros of the faith in Hebrews 1. It was a great lesson for me as I fall daily in motherhood. I don't have to be perfect and will fail. 1Peter 3:6 says "as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror."
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Life is Crazy!
I do need to report the new dryer is GREAT!! The clothes dry faster with less wrinkles. We're aren't using dryer sheets - so far so good.
Just a quick run down of our crazy week:
Wednesday - I started a new Bible Study called Apples of Gold that seems wonderful. Kids had drama practice, then church.
Thursday - discovered Bryce had strep throat - 3 times now. We had hair cuts and Newman did sound stuff for the Dave Ramsey Simulcast.
Friday - make Rice Krispie Treats for Friday night and Saturday morning. Demonstration night where kiddos did a skit and Newman sound stuff.
I had to wonder where school fit in this past week!! But it did!
Saturday - morning with 4-H group at Family-A-Fair, wedding in afternoon and evening shopping for sandals for Aubree and Mother's Day presents.
Sunday - Church and REST!!
A picture from Demonstation Night. They did a skit about "light" that their Daddy wrote. Towards the end of the skit Aubree got really tickled and giggled and giggled. She was able to pull it back together and finish the skit. She said she was nervous and wouldn't look at the audience. (This was her first time being in front of an audience.) Bryce said he "wasn't nervous at all." He even looked at me like I was crazy when I asked. I hope and pray the drama night on Friday goes as well!!

Glad Today is Tuesday
And Monday is over!!
Yesterday started out really good. We were working on school and laundry. Everyone was getting along pretty good. I just knew we'd be able to finish a lot!! HA!HA!
After putting one load of laundry in the dryer and washing another load, I realized the dryer was NOT heating!! I tried to convince myself I had forgotten to turn it on - no such luck. So, I call my ever faithful husband. (Side note to say that he's been wanting to buy a new dryer for a while now - it's old and not energy efficient, etc. He says the dryer is not made to hold the same amount of clothes that the washing machine holds and he wanted a bigger one. To me, it holds all the clothes, and they get dried - it might take a long time, but they are dry and the money stays in the bank. )
I jokingly accuse him of praying over the dryer before he left for work. Thankfully, he's able to come home a little early and buy and install the new dryer.
Meanwhile on the home front, I have 2 loads of WET clothes to "hang out" in the house. The kids and I spent at least an hour getting hangers and hanging the laundry in the bathrooms. We even used the rails to Bryce's bed. While we were working, the kiddos gave me their thoughts about a new dryer. Aubree told me she wanted a silver one and Bryce said he wanted one with the circle doors that you can see through. Who knew?? Too many trips to Lowes??
Also, when Bryce and I went out to get the mail, our state refund check finally came after being "in process" for two months. Bryce reminded me we could use that money to pay for the new dryer.
No fancy dryer here, but the kids are excited that it has a light inside.
